2005 Spring (1)
Tuesday, January 11th, 2005We would like to wish all of you a very Happy and Peaceful New Year. The term has got off to a good start although there are a large number of bugs, coughs, colds and sickness going around with both staff and children being affected.
We would like to thank you for your wonderful support in school over the Christmas period in so many ways. This helped the Christmas celebrations go smoothly so that a good time was had by all.
Tsunami Disaster
We would like to give the children the opportunity to make a donation towards this disaster and we will therefore be joining with the junior school to hold a non-uniform day on Thursday 20th January. On this day the children may wear ordinary clothes and bring a small donation into school. If possible we would like to encourage the children to bring a small amount from their own money boxes so that they feel they have really contributed themselves. We will be talking to the children about this and on the day we will make a line of coins around the school building to see how far we can reach!!
School Website
I would like to thank David Meadmore who has managed and maintained our school website for the past couple of years. We are really grateful to him for his interest and hard work and for putting us on the website map!
The website is now being managed and maintained by Stuart Cummings and we have a new address which is: www.maidenbowerinfantschool.org.uk
You can find all of our school documents and up to date news on this site. Many thanks to Stuart for taking over from David.

Request from the Friends
Do any of you work for the Halifax Building Society? The Halifax has Bouncy Castles which they are happy to lend out to schools for carnivals and fairs. However, they do need somebody from the Halifax to attend the event and to be in charge of the bouncy castle! If anyone does work for the Halifax we would love to hear from you!
Reminders
If your child is sick please remember to keep them at home for the following day. This ensures that your child is really over the bug and also helps to prevent it spreading. We do appreciate your cooperation in this.
Just another reminder to label your children’s clothes. We gather an amazing amount of Lost Property which is unnamed - sometimes brand new items which are never reclaimed. If clothing is named it is so easy to return it to its owner!!
