2008 Spring (2)

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Welcome back to the second half of the Spring term.
I hope you all had a lovely half term holiday

Such Sad News

Sadly, over the half term holiday we had some most unwelcome visitors who have wrecked our roof and lightning conductors while stealing copper and lead. I am delighted to report that these people were caught and arrested!
They were committing the offence during the afternoon, in daylight. Should you ever see any people on school premises during out of school hours and you?re not sure they should be there please do not hesitate to call the police.
The repair work will be carried out over the next few days. Please take care in the playground when dropping off and picking up your children.

And on to happier news…

London Marathon 13th April 2008

One of our Teaching Assistants Michele Ryan is running the London Marathon this year to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK?s leading children?s cancer charity. She aims to raise ?2,000 ? or even more! If you would like to support this worthy cause you can do so via school or by logging onto Michele?s fundraising website: justgiving.com/micheleryan. Thank you.

School Review

Now is the time that we review the school year 2007/08. We always include the views of the parents/carers and the children. We would be most grateful if you would complete the attached questionnaires. Please support your child/ren to complete their questionnaire without influencing their responses!

Donations to Support Our Enriched Curriculum

Many, many thanks to those of you who have made a voluntary ?10 donation to this fund. If you would still like to donate it?s certainly not too late! Without your help we would not have been able to invite:

The Puppeteers ?470
Krazy Kats ?350
Timespan x2 visits ?305
Huxleys (birds of prey) ?130
Chinese Educational Performers ?450
The Key Stage ?250
The Man from Story Mountain ?500
Quantum Theatre ?167

As you can see it?s expensive but so important to bring the curriculum alive!

Consultation Evenings: 11th and 12th March

Please remember to sign up for your ten minute consultation with your child?s class teacher. As usual I will be running a cr?che in the studio on both evenings so that you can have an uninterrupted conversation!

In the summer term we will be holding an open evening where your child can be your guide.
More details nearer the time.

The Travelling Book Company

The Travelling Book company arrives on Tuesday 11th March and will be open after school on 11th, 12th and 13th at 3.00p.m.
Come along and buy some good quality children?s literature.

Keeping Safe

SCOOTERS: I am delighted by the number of children who are ?scooting? to school. May I remind you that the children must NOT ride their scooters in the playground or park bicycles in the scooter park.

STAFF CARPARK: We have noticed several parents walking their children to and from school via the staff car park. Please use the pedestrian gate and ensure your safety. Also note that the car park is for staff cars only.

Coats

Please remember to provide a coat every day as the weather is still very changeable. Even if you come to school by car your child will need a coat for playtime.
