         Topic

This week we will be continuing our science investigation about how plants grow best.  The children will have the opportunity to find out how well their cress has grown in the different conditions and to draw conclusions.  We will discuss whether what happened was what they had expected.

 

Maths

          This week we are learning how to problem solve with numbers.  We will be learning how to work systematically to ensure we find all the solutions.  We will also be learning about what even and odd numbers are, and will try to spot them around the unit!

 

PE   

We will continue to develop our bat and ball skills.

We will be bouncing a ball on a bat and keeping score to try and beat our personal bests.

We will then be trying to pass and receive a ball with a partner.  Perhaps you could practise this in the garden over half term- weather permitting!!!!!

If the weather is nice we will be going outside- DON’T FORGET YOUR PLIMSOLLS PLEASE!!!

 

          National Smile Month

 

 

This week we will be thinking about tooth kind food and looking for tooth kind food and drinks in the children’s lunchboxes. We will also be discussing what types of food and drinks are good for our teeth and the importance of having healthy teeth and how to look after them. PLEASE CAN ALL CHILDREN BRING IN THEIR TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE ON FRIDAY 22^nd MAY so that we can all practise cleaning our teeth.

 

Important Dates

We will be visiting Wakehurst Place on Monday 15^th June.  A letter will be sent home soon with all the necessary information.  We will need parent help and will put a ‘signing up board’ out soon, so please keep your diaries free!

DON’T FORGET! There is a staff INSET day on Monday 1^st June. The children come back to school on Tuesday 2^nd June.
