Topic This week we will be having lots of creative fun! We will choose our favourite rainforest creature and sketch it using simple step by step instructions and simple shapes, building up the detail as we go. We will then paint our animals using small brushes and bold rainforest colours. We will investigate different brush strokes in order to create different textures.
Maths This week we will solve some fun problems by using our length measuring skills.
Things to try at home: Use non standard measures to estimate and measure distances and objects. e.g. How many shoe lengths is it from the front door to the stairs? How many pens do you need to match the length of the table? If you have a ruler or tape measure, you could try measuring things more accurately.
P.S.H.E We will be investigating the role of exercise on our health and well being and will relate this to sports day.
Spellings Please look through your spelling books. Play games like hangman and noughts and crosses to practise tricky words.
SPORTS DAY! Our Sports day begins at 1.30 on Friday 3rd July. Please come and support us! Thank you for providing your children with plimsolls. Please double check that they fit, as we are having quite a few squeezed toes or plimsolls flying off!!!
REPORTS Children will be bringing home their annual reports on Friday 3rd July. Please take time to share these with your children and work together to complete the comment slips. Please return the comment slips to your class teacher ASAP. Thank you.
MIDSUMMER MADNESS Please join us on the evening of Friday 3rd (A busy day!)
