TRAVEL PLAN MARK 2 ACHIEVED!
Thanks to all of you who have supported our walk to school initiatives we have been awarded Travel Plan mark 2 and will be receiving some help with the cost of extending our scooter parks.
YEAR 2 LEAVERS
It’s that emotional time again when we say a fond farewell to our Year 2 children as they prepare to continue their learning journeys in the Junior School. Don’t forget our leavers Assembly for Year 2 parents at 2.15p.m. on Tuesday 21st July in the hall. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a crèche for pre-school siblings. Please make your own child care arrangements on this occasion. Thank you
MEET YOUR CHILD’S NEW TEACHER
We have planned an opportunity for parents of children moving into Year 1 and Year 2 in September to meet their child’s new teacher on Monday 20th July. Please come along at any time between 2.00p.m. and 3.00p.m. collect your child and visit your child’s new classroom.
SPORTS STARS
We are so proud! Miss Musgrave has been working hard in collaboration with our locality of schools and has organised relay events for YR children and we won joint first place in the recent multiskills competition with St Margarets Primary School.
Sports Day was great! All of the children shone so brightly. We collected £179.24 for Water Aid thanks to those of you who walked in support of this worthy charity.
A plea from Mrs Steer
If anyone has a Mr Potatoe Head game they no longer want she would love to have it.
GREEN FINGERED GARDENERS
We have a super crop of peas, potatoes, broccoli, lettuce, garlic and carrots. BRILLIANT FOR A FIRST ATTEMPT! Pumpkins seeds have been sown ready for an Autumn harvest.
MIDSUMMER MADNESS
What a fabulous turn out. Many thanks to the Friends of Maidenbower Infant School for their tireless hard work in planning and manning such a super event. I understand the ‘auction’ raised £980! Several of you got some bargains – well done! I’ll let you know how much we have raised as soon as I hear. Once again thanks for your support.
REMINDER:
School starts for the children on Thursday 3rd September 2009
Have a lovely holiday.
