Nursery Admissions Policy

Where spaces are available, Maidenbower Infant School Nursery accepts all children following their 3rd birthday.

Registration

Applications should be made after a child’s second birthday. All applications for a place at the Nursery will be dated on receipt and a non-refundable administration charge of £5 should be submitted with applications. Cheques should be made payable to Maidenbower Infant School.

Admissions

Admissions are considered every half term on the following criteria.

Following a child’s 3rd birthday, a place will be offered as soon as one becomes available. Priority will be given to those whose registration was received first.

Once places are allocated, a waiting list will operate until the child reaches statutory school age. A child will not be removed from the waiting list unless written confirmation has been received. The waiting list operates on the above criteria.

Places will be offered as follows:

September entrants will be notified of their place during the previous April.
April entrants will be notified during the previous January.
January entrants during the previous September.

If the offer of a place is not accepted in writing within two calendar weeks it will be re-allocated. The completion of an application form does not guarantee a place in the Nursery.

Attendance at the Nursery does not guarantee a place at Maidenbower Infant School. Parents will need to contact the West Sussex County Council Pupil Admission Office on 01293 895326.

Notice

The Nursery requires written notice, a term in advance, of any intent to terminate attendance or to make any alterations to sessions.

Appeal

If a request for a place at the Nursery is refused, parents have the right of appeal to the Full Governing Body. Parents will need to write to the Full Governing Body detailing their reasons for appealing against the decision.
