My name is Rachel Tomlinson and I am an Associate Governor and Assistant Headteacher. I have had the pleasure of working at Maidenbower Infant School and Nursery since 2002 when I started as a newly qualified teacher. Since then I have worked as a class teacher in all three year groups before becoming the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) in September 2019 and am now the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and SENCO. I completed the statutory National Award for SEN Coordination in 2021.

I am advocate for SEND and Inclusion on the Governing Body and ensure it is always on the agenda and kept at the forefront of everything we do as a school.

I am very proud to be a member of the team at Maidenbower Infant school and Nursery and work alongside incredibly dedicated, hard working staff and I thoroughly enjoy working with all the children and families in the school community.

When I am not working for the school I have an active home life and am kept very busy with my own three children, my husband, and our dog.
