At Maidenbower Infant School and Nursery, assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning cycle. We assess pupil's knowledge, skills and understanding through a variety of different tasks, including summative data collection and through daily formative assessment tasks. As a school, we pride ourselves on knowing every child well and our assessment strategies are used in a holistic way, centred around the whole child. All staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to act in a responsive and timely manner, to ensure that all children make good progress from their starting points.
